I think it's about equal, as New York is now pretty safe after dark. I forgot that the Swiss have a lot of guns. So what are you saying--that it is not the guns, it is the "American character" that creates the danger? If so, then the phrase, "guns don't kill people, people kill people", can raise the question of whether the people who get guns are sufficiently trustworthy to have them. All in all, it's starting to seem to me like a false debate since nuts find other ways to kill, if they can't get guns or don't feel like using them--O.J. Simpson and Oklahoma City come to mind. I'd like more information. The Swiss have guns; that's a very free (if somewhat anal) society. The English don't have guns; and that's a very free society. What about Australia, Sweden, Italy, France, Israel, Canada...guns or no guns?
