"local media" is gov't media period.! NS, the ruling party UMNO has a controlling interest in every newspaper and 3 out of 4 TV stations. The fourth is a newbie and hasnt' learned how to survive yet. The short answer is YES they'll hype the hell out of it until Asia Week hits the stands or Asian Wall Street Journal tells the truth. the KLSE is basically consumer folks at the moment who'll believe anything that 'sounds good'. ASIDE - spin-doctoring was originated in 3rd world countries controlled by one party.
