Pseudo, the BACKGROUND OF THE MERGER is indeed interesting.

Here is another intriguing PNU filing:
sec.gov

What we know for certain is that there are several large pharmas who have gone on record stating that they seek to grow their business through an aggressive acquisition strategy. PNU is making a significant push to strengthen its presence in oncology and the Sugen deal is certainly not the end of their quest.

Let's hope that before MGI is swept up there is some form of partnering and collaboration to significantly increase the valuation. This may well be happening behind the scenes as we type.

Rothwell conspicuously absent from the MGI Annual Shareholder's meeting...

Interesting times.

PB,

Thanks for the link. Very interesting! I would love to have been a fly on the wall in the room as SUGN execs realized that they were not holding the cards they thought they were. There are several fundamental differences between MOGN & SUGN (e.g. profitability) and I would assume the potential types of discussions between PNU & MOGN would be somewhat different than those that took place between PNU & SUGN. Whatever the case, I would think that Blitzer and Co. must be careful so as to avoid stumbling into the position of realizing, as SUGN did, that they are not in Kansas anymore. MOGN is swimming with a big fish and it could easily be swallowed up as MGI-114 nears PIII trails (assuming they are warranted).
