The deal with AOL/Novell is just a media event. The same goes for Red Hat. These are going to be forgotten upon the launch of Windows2000.
Just have some patience.
MSFT's defense against DOJ is now strengthening as the proof is all around that it is a competitive environment. I personally don't believe there is any competition to MSFT. As long as the media and Microsoft haters like yourself are making predictions of the end of MSFT dominance, it will only help their legal defense and lobbying efforts.

In my opinion, MSFT is just watching these alliances happen (and will present this evidence in court) and getting ready to tell judge Jackson that the government had no case.
AOL's battle to MSFT instant messaging is excellent for their legal defense.

Again, once Windows2000 is released and hyped, it will bring everything from MSFT to the forefront---in a flash!!!! Linux and whatever else will become just a distant memory.

Just wait and see---give it until about March2000.

PS. I was going to trade Red Hat long for a short time but was away on some other business yesterday. You can always use hype for short term gains. You have to be insane to hold a stock like Red Hat on a long term basis and of course insane to short MSFT on any long term basis. Just my opinions.
