I agree. Not only that, for free access to survive in the long term, advertising revenues and ecommerce are going to have to be big for these companies. No one does more ecommerce and ad business than AOL. They are in much better position to offer free access than anyone because of their size.

Their argument is that there is a certain segment of people that want low cost access and they will serve that segment with Compuserve. They say that there is a much larger segment that want all the bells and whistles and are willing to pay for it.
