Robert - thanks for your message. I think there is no denying that certain high end applications run better on UNIX/Oracle than NT/SQL Server. But my comments are based on the viewpoint of the Fortune 500 IT Manager and CIO that are deciding what to purchase for their corporate infrastructure. So - you may be right, Happy_girl and I are perhaps talking about two different market segments.

But if you take the number of servers as a whole - everything I have read indicates that NT has been capturing market share. If I am wrong, I would love to see the stats - cause I certainly don't want to post incorrect information here.

By the way - yes, I do live in San Francisco, and I have several customers, some of them Fortune 500 companies, that are using NT - and love it.

Thanks,
-Eric
