Oilbabe: would have preferred the SPO be priced higher, but that is the call of the street types and they want to look good to their big clients. I dont know how far in advance they really set the price, but the heavy down draft KERA has experienced lately resulted in the cushion being set below the current price. I guess one could take the time to look at the average volumes and see if the stock was being pushed down by evil forces, but KERA has been a volatile stock over the years. As to the stock itself, it seems to be running a pattern seen before - a stock traders favorite. Wide swings with in a reasonable band. The recent pop to 30 was a bit overdone but nice none the less. My current holdings in KERA are all profit so I dont care about any swings. This stock will trade in a range for some time to come, but at one point a critical juncture will be reached and the stock will take off and not return to its "natural home". I dont know what will cause that, it might be a second or third blow out quarter, it might be passing the X thousand doctor trained, it might be phase III trials for Y diopter. I am confident it will happen, that is why I am a buyer at these and significantly higher levels. Long term, IMO this is about as much of a cant miss as you can get. Add the 'elegance' of the procedure to the world wide ease of application and you get a winner in my book. Sure VISX has a big head start and currently has a wider range of application, but those will change, give it a couple of years. The only thing that can trip KERA up is a management failure. To date, the group has done well. I dont think the current business plan should be all that difficult to execute: extend the training of doctors. (Not like building a rapidly changing consumer product or launching rockets as some of my other interests are involved in) One last thought: Have you seen the ads lately pushing the 'Live' eye surgery? On several fronts this is good for KERA. I get a hint of increased competition in these ads, as if they are running scared and need to get the customers in before KERA becomes wide spread and takes market share. They seem to be attempting to de-mystify the Lasik procedure before KERA comes out in the local market. KERA does not suffer from that marketing hindrance. Most people wont have to think twice given a choice between the two. Lasik has done well to date but IMO KERA is definitely the future. Sorry to run on. Jeff Vayda
