The only thing I use Metastock for is optimizations (which it is exxcellent at if you don't mind doing one stock at a time), as I do most ofthe TA on the Mac. I have a bunch of formulaes in there that I use for testing that I will figure out how to export or package and email to you (pm or email me in case if the address isn't in your profile, though).

One last point is that if you want to look at any mutual funds (including Canadian - for which they charge more for), get the reuters data feed instead of dial data. Both will work, but all the data on the historical CD cannot be merged with a dial data feed, so you could either look at the history or the last 6 months (unless you get the 2 year data subscription service).

If the version you bought is the Dial Data version, just call Metastock and tell them you need the other version - after hemming andhawing they will tell you that both versions are on the CD you got, and they will give you a code to reinstall the Reuters verion - which actually allows you to use either Dial Data or Reuters by selecting 'source' - which for some reason the other version only shows DD. What I found odd is that Reuters and Equis are part of the same company - yoiu would think that they would use that as a selling point for their data feed - go figure.

I will admit that I have found less spurious data (fewer mistakes) in the Reuter's feed than from DD. and both have equal uptimes although DD is probably more likely to be up thenext morning rather than later the same night like Reuters is.
