They can do it but its not a lay-up.

Oh I think it'll be a slam dunk. JNPR's one and only product is designed and built to be compatible with CSCO's products. You can say that JNPR is riding on CSCO's coattail for now. Once CSCO cuts the umbilical cord, JNPR will be left in the outfield.

I don't think I said LU, CSCO and NT had all the products covered and there will always be space for small players.. But these folks will not let a small player become a big player for one reason. If there is a significant revenue stream to be had in the infrastructure one or all of these guys will own it... one way or another. My opinions are projections not statements of what already exists. RBAK and JNPR are mice nuts today and the big boys are happy to let some of them live. LU already sucked up Nexabit, Fibex is gone, Cerent will be gone, RBAK and JNPR will be gone too.
