re: "In the back of my mind I keep wondering why Raza resigned if everything is coming up roses."

A much more relevant issue is what Atiq Raza did with his AMD shares when he left. Unlike Vinod Dahm, I suspect that he probably still holds most if not all of them and may for a very long time. Obviously I could be wrong and, if so, my thinking might be impacted when some new insider sales reports are generated.

I'm wondering more about how AMD will manage without him there. Presumably AMD will do just fine without him, but I don't know. Jerry Sanders himself is filling in for Atiq Raza in the meantime. Given the guy's tremendous ego, I'd wonder how well he'll manage when AMD has to overcome the next production glitch ... er ... challenge.

Herb,

" I think it rather confusing that the web page with the PC Week article claiming
that PC Week could not get Plll's has a direct link to the PC Magazine
report who had them. What that means beats the devil out of me but there has
been no dearth of Plll 600 benchmarks on the web."

Maybe they bought the Dell. The claim was no one would ship them
a 600MHz system to review against the Athlon.

"In the back of my mind I keep wondering why Raza resigned if everything is
coming up roses. Maybe Dell, Gateway, etal know the reason. Do you?"

Nope, I'm sure the others don't either. Here's an interview. I doubt it
will help though. Different people are motivated by different things.
