That doesn't mean it's impossible for AMD to achieve their 30% market share target by 2001. It just means it's impossible if AMD only doubles the number of CPU's shipped per quarter.

Possibly he was thinking in terms of revenue share rather than unit share. If they double the units and double their ASP's, then revenue quadruples.
