I don't know if anybody looked at what Sprint PCS is offering, but my understanding is that they are going to charge you per minute while connected to the web (with your handset acting as a modem), the web access via your handset acting as a browser seems to be limited to Yahoo or other "partners" with ridiculous charges per hit.

If this is the case, two words come to my mind to describe it: pitiful and pathetic.

What I want is a packet switched access to the web, anywhere __I__ want to go without Sprint acting as an intermediary, censor or pimp. I want Sprint to carry the packets of data and charge me on per packet basis.

What they are offering is a sham. I am hugely disappointed.
