RE: CNBC sure likes it a lot more on the downside than they do on the upside.

Back in May on the day before Dell reported, CNBC repeatedly hyped a ML call on Dell. CNBC kept on referring to some mysterious "upgrade". The only major change in the ML report that day was a reduction in the price target from $55 to $50. Even though CNBC was informed of this, they kept on talking about an upgrade.

But let something negative happen to their precious "GE" and you seldom hear a peep. I found it amusing that one day they were extolling the virtues of their parent company (GE) and how it was leading the market upward...two days later the damn thing was in the toilet but no mention about it. Must be one of those fair weather leaders <heh, heh.>

I do give Joe Kernan some credit for bucking everyone else the other day. He made a comment about how the market would probably do better because all of the "knowledgeable" traders were saying how bleak everything looks.

Personally I find it fun to watch them now...they use to irritate the living hell out of me now I try to understand what is really being said (or better yet...not said.)
