She did not make a sly stab- she merely forget that, as I did when I read it. You forget that many women, especially women gifted in creative literary/social type careers, do not think mathematically. I NEVER get logic/math jokes. And usually my women friends would never never tell them because they do not get them either. No, it is only men who torture us with these things. I realize this may sound a bit sexually biased, and it is- and the world is, and we are as a species. Women and men are very different- and I think your idea that this woman was making a sly stab at jbe (if you are serious) illuminates this area of difference.
