Intel may push separate 133-MHz SDRAM spec

"Intel's year 2000 chipset launch will still give rivals like Via, Acer Laboratories Inc., and Reliance Computer Corp. at least a six-month head start, unless Intel can use its formidable marketing clout to somehow convince OEMs to wait for the revised SDRAM spec, analysts said"

This is a good read. You have to read the whole article before any mention of amd is made, but its worth it.

Tejerk - Re: "When you are the fastest chip in all the land you can afford to be late "

When you are late, you are not the fastest chip in all the land.

Intel's chips are still the fastest available x86 CPUs.

You should note that the word AVAILABLE becomes VERY SIGNIFICANT around Earnings Reporting time.
