The price will be determined by how much people are willing to pay just to have a stake in a possible long term winner. I am one of those longs with a small position and thus willing to wait it out. Linux has Microsoft worried a bit and that is why I bought in.

The Apache software foundation is a non profit development effort. Are you referring to the following apache.org when you refer to owning shares of Apache?
