MCSC's Media Consultants and Systems Integration Group pioneered the concept of designing, installing, and supporting turn-key communications facilities. The design-build concept is critical to the development of effective, custom-built multimedia systems. By following this process, the Group is involved with every aspect of development and implementation, allowing it to fulfill its client's needs and expectations.

The Group located at MCSC's Tampa office has designed an supplied equipment for over 40 of Paxson Communications' broadcast TV stations. MCSC has been responsible for the design from conception through final documentation. Paxson Communications has purchased over 30 million dollars worth of broadcast equipment from MCSC Tampa Group. These stations are located in every major market in the United States and in over 40 markets total. Twenty of these stations are DTV ready and were designed using CCIR601 digital video and AES/EBU digital audio. The MCSC Tampa Group was charged with integrating existing analog technology with the new digital technology to enable the customer to transition from analog to digital to prepare for the move to DTV in the coming years.

The MCSC Tampa Group designed and provided a turn-key installation for Dominion Broadcast Satellite's new uplink center in Naples, Florida. This facility uplinks programming to Echostar which is one of the largest DSS companies in the country. The MCSC Tampa Group is currently building a similar system for the Apostolate for Family Consecration in Bloomingdale, Ohio. This new uplink facility will feature the latest file server technology for direct to air capabilities using 150 hours of online storage. The facility will utilize state of the art CCIR601 digital video and AES/EBU digital audio. This enables the customer to move into DTV or HDTV in the future.

The MCSC Tampa Group designed and provided a turn-key installation for two digital linear edit suites for Paxson Communications' Pax Net network programming center in West Palm Beach, Florida. These suites are CCIR601 video and analog audio. The suites are used to prepare all of Pax Net's programming material for air. The terminal equipment room also has dubbing capabilities and provides feeds for four producer stations with remote control of tape machines located at each station. These work stations are used by the producers to view programs and make decisions on content and program segment lengths as well as other programming issues. The producers then provide this information to the edit suites which in turn edit the programs for content, length and promotions.

The MCSC Tampa Group designed and provided a turn-key installation for the duplication system for Paxson Communications' Pax Net network center in Clearwater, Florida. This facility is CCIR601 digital video and AES/EBU digital audio. It provides both digital and analog capabilities as well as multi-format capabilities. The design required the use of multiple routing switchers with a total of 7 levels of switching taking place at one time. The customer is able to monitor both analog and digital signals and can route every signal to an engineering station to monitor the quality of both digital and analog video and audio signals.
