Well, if it does not work I guess you could try the Valerian root but according to J. you should use it sparingly.

I can ask her to look up alternatives, she came up with those two off the top of her head.

You might want to ask about Melatonin, an extremely popular (dietary supplement). It is used for "Sleep/Wake" patterns. My wife uses it and says it's very good for jet lag. I don't think it is an herb, but a type of hormone, so it's not something to take regularly without concern.
