I think I've figured out on who (or whoom) to blame my involvement in "the stock market" ~ It isn't me, it's you guys.

Yes, without something to do, there's no way I would sit still for this stupidity.

O, the tedium. O, the insanity. Who could pay attention for this long?

I know I can't, so I'm thinking it has to be you guys. Who have roped my ankles. Calf ropers.

Didn't think I'd find out?

I hope you'll have the backbone to accept responsibility.

"Paper or plastic."

look at all the happy happy people, buying buying....

Trust me penni, the day will in fact come when the ebay red hat aol amazon buying hordes of lemmings will be lined up on the sidewalks here in front of Nordstroms with their magic-markered cardboard signs and shopping carts, and we will haughtily saunter by and flip them quarters.

It will happen...

Re: Market. Expect neither Rhyme nor Reason.

One of the companies in which I hold stock is Abercrombie & Fitch. Solid as can be. Steadily increasing revenues; steadily increasing profits. Announced usual estimate-beating quarterly results earlier this week, followed by usual analyst upgrades.

So? It's down 7&-8% today (went as low as 10%). Go figure.

My advice to such folks as myself, who really have neither the time nor the inclination to track their portfolios and sweat over them from morn till night: put your dough in a diverse range of mutual funds with a good track record, and let the pros worry about it.

My portfolio of mutual funds is still up year-to-date. My portfolio of individually owned stocks is down.

Joan
