Y2k name dropping: I have to share this. My wife was volunteering as a host for public television during an airing of Peter Buffet's "Spirit". Peter Buffet was also working the pledge drive. She asked him what his father Warren thought about Y2k. He said his dad wasn't very concerned with it but added that he had occasion to talk with Bill Gates last week who said he was not worried at all. On the other hand, he had also talked with Andy Grove. Grove apparently won't be on any aircraft at the end of the year.

Not that this means anything, but the net worth of the three names in that one conversation gave me a chuckle.

Buddy

How's this for a rally, Rande? You called the recent top but I called the recent bottom. Fed might not raise rates at all which means we keep rallying into September (or not).
Deflationary talk now except for oil.

Still quite a few bargains out there.
