Hasn't the stock dropped right after good earnings the last 2 or 3 quarters? Maybe a lot of others have also seen this pattern and are just locking in profits earlier than in the past.

In any case, my sense is that things are very good in AMAT land. The stream of capacity and investment related articles from Brian and others, IMO, underscores this.

A low in the range buying opportunity?

Larry

Jeffrey D,

RE: " Interesting in that Needham places a 12 month price target range from $60 to $75. Hmm, I don't think those hard working AMAT construction workers appreciate that. Jeff "

I used to follow those Paid Analysts until I realized their Funny Predictions are good only to make me smile (not laugh). One Analyst Guy, a few months ago set a Target price for AMAT within 12 months at 75 when the Stock was already at 70. Even Battipaglia the Always-the Bull-Guy made me smile 2 years ago when AMAT was then near the Bottom at 23 and Battipaglia said he will buy AMAT only at 17 then sell at 50 after 2 years. Of course we know now that AMAT reached 108 in a year, split, and after 2 years is trying to reach 100 again and Battipaglia never had the chance to buy AMAT!...

Actually the Paid Analysts are not Entertainers like the Professional Wrestlers --- they are paid to cause the Market to YoYo in order to bring business to the Funds, Brokerages etc, etc... They say 12 months to 2 years target but actually what they meant are short term movements from a few days to a month.

Their movements are being tracked in my Monthly AMAT YoYo Plays. AMAT, because of its price sensitivity in the Market YoYo Drop/Catch regularly and thus is a favorite for those paid Analysts. When the Stock is on its way to YoYo Drop some of them Downgrade the stock to help accelerate the descent; then when the Stock Spins at the Bottom --- tug the String for the YoYo Catch by issuing bullish Comments. (If some of you readers have time, take notice of how the Paid Analysts Time their Bearish/Bullish Comments. It may cause you a smile and may act profitably each time)...
