OK,

Here's a possible way. It's not perfectly automatic but it's not bad:

Go into your Favorites folder and copy all the Favorites you want to send into another folder.

Then use the ie export feature (File/Export) to create an html file comprising a linkable list of the Favorites in that folder (it's self-explanatory).

Then bring up that document in a browser window.

Right click on the browser window and hit "View Source" and you will get a notepad document with the list of url's plus some extraneous info.

You can edit this down to just the url's by copying and pasting each url into a text document or a message window.

Not perfect but not bad.

hi Marksman and all

i'm switching from old puter to new

grrrrrrr

new one keeps freezing up, won't respond to alt control delete, can't reboot, so i turn off and on. i know that's bad

was installing my zip when this happened, now zip is named the "d" drive, should be the e drive and the little zip icon is by the d drive too. for some reason d and e switched. when i tried to reinstall the zip program, d drive was automatically prompted as my default drive during the install process. is this just a simple glitch? do i just go in and rename the drives?

i hate this stuff

foxy

mark,

PS: Something tells me that the text file that is created using "View Source" is directly usable by Netscape to import the bookmarks.

Example (This is copied directly, as is, from the Notepad document. If you copy just the urls without the quotes, the links are good):

<!DOCTYPE NETSCAPE-Bookmark-file-1>
<!-- This is an automatically generated file.
It will be read and overwritten.
Do Not Edit! -->
<TITLE>Bookmarks</TITLE>

Note that it is given the title "Bookmarks" rather than "Favorites".

Also I seem to remember something like this from my Netscape days.

My Netscape experience is limited, but, when I last used their browser (3.0), it saved Bookmarks in an html or ".HTM" file. Knowing this, one could easily Cut and Paste from one window to another.

Personally, I find the 'Delete' key easier to master than Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V stuff, so I copy the 'load' and delete the extra later.

Perhaps others will post an easier way. We can always hope.

Cheers, PW.

P.S.

Thank-you for the compliment.
