Barriers to entry are important considerations. What does
AMZN or EBAY have that a competitor can't improve?
At least with AOL, you've got some "stickiness".
People don't want to leave AOL, because their buddies
in the chat rooms are there. There's a whole young
generation of teenagers(adults too) addicted to AOL's chatrooms
and instant messaging.

At least AOL and EBAY have some earnings. I honestly
don't believe AMZN will ever be profitable. I think
AMZN's operating losses will deepen as competition intensifies.
If AMZN can't earn money now, it's only going to get worse
for them. The more I look at AMZN, including the very poor
quality of their human resources, the more I realize that the
Emperor has no clothes. AMZN is a game of musical chairs,
I wouldn't want to be the last one standing.

Baz,

AMZN and EBAY are strong out of the gate again. But, don't count out the old mare. It takes her awhile to get up a head of steam. AOL pulls away down the backstretch just like yesterday :-)
