"SOFTBANK CORP Will be added to the TOPIX Core 30!!!"
Motley Fool, Bakatare1 (?)

This was posted on Motley Fool a couple of days ago I don't know if it is accurate, but it is easily checked I suppose. I don't recall seeing it posted here at SI:

zdiiboards.fool.com

"SOFTBANK CORP Will be added to the TOPIX Core 30!!!

The TOPIX Core 30 consists of the 30 most liquid stocks with the largest market capitalization on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

The other indices are the:
TOPIX Large 70
TOPIX 100
TOPIX Mid 400
TOPIX 500
TOPIX Small

The large companies whose stock makes up the "Core 30" and "TOPIX 100" indices are well known not only to domestic (Japanese) investors, but also to foreign investors. Some of the other companies in the TOPIX Core 30 are SONY, TOSHIBA, NEC, FUJITSU, HONDA, TOYOTA, SUMITOMO BANK, CANON, NIPPON TELEGRAPH & TELEPHONE CORP.......WOW!!

In order to avoid ambiguous selection of component stocks, the decision of whether or not to include a stock in the indices will be based purely on numerical value such as market capitalization and trading value.

The componet stocks are revised every September. Softbank will be reflected in the TOPEX Core 30 beginning Friday, September 10, 1999."
