Did you read the article in Human Events a couple of months ago that explained how Lott and company decided the outcome of impeachment before it even started? Wonder what Henry Hyde thought about that.

Getting back to this idea of courage, it is possible, if one thinks in a very cynical and Machiavellian way, to give a little latitude on Lott's concession to impeachment. (Although you have to bend over backward pretty far). It can be construed as a pure political gambit. However, it seems that by their inaction they are becoming collaborators with Clinton's imperialist and treasonous maneuverings. Who in that august body is going to speak up for the Taiwanese when China makes its move? Why is China allowed to methodically go about taking charge of the Panama Canal? I wish Jim Traficant would change parties and run for the Senate. He would light a fire under those scalawags.
