Richard,

I like your scenario to a certain extent. Nothing would please me more than to back up the truck for $50 RMBS shares, but I'm not holding my breath.

here is another scenario...........A fully invested leap holder will net 300% gains.

rich,
i like a man with a plan. above are the first and last sentences of your message.
if i may be serious for a minute or two :o)

we are looking for rmbs to be in 5+% of pc's by the end of this year...the other 95% need a memory. if they can get a memory enhancement at minimal or no extra cost of course they should do it. that is not an issue for me. i have never once stated an opinion on what memory the non rambus pc's should use.

intel has been clear about the big plan.
the rash of new product announcements and production increases paint a clear picture to me. rambus is the future.
i don't think anyone ever expected rambus to be in 100% of computers overnight. during the 18-24 month transitional period other memories have to be used to fill the non rambus pc's.

they are possible substitutes for sdram 100. they are not a replacement for rambus. the industry has no choice imo but to switch. the change-over will be complete with 512m and 1 gig rdram coupled with timna and the rambus server next year. sdram, ddr, etc will not be able to compete performance or price wise at that point.

it seems patently obvious to me that with the continuing litany of rambus enabled product announcements from pc main memory, to servers, embedded processors, hdtv, game stations, digital communications devices, graphics apps, and on and on. the entire technology world sees advantages to rambus.

some shorts present some good short term issues. most are mesmerized by the pe, have little or no knowledge of rambus, and do not have any idea of the income potential and how quickly it can all become reality. many shorts' arguments are shallow, repetitive and irrelevant. some are outright untruths. i refuse to be swayed or intimidated by them. ever notice how quickly the shorts revert to hate mongering when i present them with clear evidence refuting their line? in the meantime the computer industry marches towards rambus and we continue to get daily rambus product announcements. personally, i love it.

the real question is when do you buy rmbs long?
i believe waiting jeopardizes your participation in the big early gains. how many companies did you know were going to change the world...but you waited and waited and ended up missing the whole boat?

Richard,

I like the scenario you paint as well. Hopefully, the timing of the much anticipated 1999 Aug-Oct crash happens at the same time as the RMBS dip through the 70's.

There will be lots of trucks backed up. Curious to see if any of my GTC's get passed by.
