Did anyone catch the news article today about development of a new battery? Using some form of iron, it is supposed to have at least 50% more power and longevity than current batteries. The story I saw also claimed it would be cheaper to produce than current batteries. Said it was several years away from commercial use, though.

It occurs to me that this is very bullish news for mobile communications industry in general. If batteries could be made either 1/2 the weight with same performance, or double the performance with same weight, cell phones and similar mobile communication devices would become even more popular.

Not to worry, Jon. I think most Q investors are reading both threads.

It's interesting that Q is closing with a kick despite the absense of news. It makes me think that we may be getting close to the long awaited split. Actually we just split on 5/11/99, but it seems like forever <g>.
