Tom,

The unofficial word that I can offer from the wellsite is that 2 hours ago we were drilling in the payzone approximately 22 feet below the top of the Temblor sand.

They had some technical difficulties last night that forced them to stop drilling and just circulate the mud around the hole for a while.
Drilling resumed around noon today.

We are drilling ahead slowly and very carefully.
Those guys must be pretty nervous down there.

Confidence in ELH is reflected in the JV's share prices. A very strong day today considering no official word has come out.
You can bet that the TSE will be demanding some sort of NR based on today's activity.

As for gas flares, your broker is probably correct. I would expect them to flare a little gas occasionally as they let the well "burp" once in a while.
It must be a very tricky job keeping the drilling mud weighted up just enough to combat the reservoir pressure, but not so high that they get severely over-weighted and lose the mud column to the formation. The guys on the rig have their work cut out for them and nobody is more qualified to run the operation than Neil Darling.

We can rest easy for the weekend (touch wood!).
