*OT*...BCRX. Can you believe the explosion in this one? You did great Texas--you've been in that one for several weeks now right? A really great call. ______________________________________________ Each day I feel a little more humbled by my lousy picks. I was looking over my performance, YTD...my wife's account +66%--but I'm very careful to take gains in that and move on--and it's only a very small account. In my account I'm up 25%, but that moves down quite a bit each time Ariad sags back to a buck (which gives you an idea of how badly I flipped out in loading up on that one, yikes). You know, each time I'm ready to bail on ARIA (usually because I see everybody else raking it in on everything else out there)--I go over my folder again. For instance today I stumbled over pnas vol. 94 pp13388 again-- Transcriptional activation: Is it rocket science? ...and I think, yeah, this is great--Ariad's is the platform to put your chips on. But the feeling never lasts... I was digging around on CEGE this morning, crap, why didn't I put mye chips into that stock--if you followed my messages back in time you would think that would be the one I'd have loaded up on--I even put a very basic summary of Prostate cancer prospects on the Cancer thread--and then forgot to mention CEGE's GVAX--geeze! More noise: After rooting around for apoptosis stuff, hoping to find something I can understand (like "Fas is the real thing baby" <g> I was going through my latest Nature. There happened to be an advert in from a company selling apoptosis reagents. So I turn the ad upside down to look at their apoptosis schematic--holy cow! I mean I know this is all over my head--but I was not ready for that reminder. You know, I think biotech really is rocketscience and I'm going to blow up on the pad. Thank goodness playing the stock market is not rocketscience--and keep the good picks coming Texas. I will watch you a little more closely next time --I'd love to double my money in two weeks. Oh man!
