Burn rate $5 to $6 millions per quarter. Joe P said he could run the company on $5 millions per year. This is just the last gasp. They seem to care only about their fat salaries. Even the VVUS executives decreased their salaries significantly, and they are selling product and has lots of cash in the company. Zonagen has wasted about $200 millions during their existence. All this money expend in cheap research, literally cheap, their costs are not the cost of a Tpa or Reopro development. Brown fat is not so bad, bears used it to sleep over winter, newborn babies used it during their first few weeks of life, it is actually easier to metabolise and use for caloric expenditure, but it seems that the FDA does not like the idea of brown fat for adult humans. The Zonagen sugestion of the safety for 50 years of previous use does not take into account that the use was sporadic for acute conditions that do not show the long term effects. Zonagen could go around shopping from the pool of many cash striped biotechs, at least to safe some face. Ergo is in similar condition: a rejected product, but cash rich. It will be interesting if any of the two could evolve. I have strong doubts about Zonagen abilities to evolve, but Joe P is smart.
