This is a company that I own stock in and it also has low volume.

You can see that it is very predictable using MACD so the answer is that although volume has allot to do with technical signals.....low volume is not a big problem.

I have personally found that some stocks are much better then others to use TA on for entry and exit points. When I run across one like your daughters company that has weak looking signal reactions I normally don't buy it. This is not to say that that company is not a good company to own, it just means it's not a good stock to try and find reliable TA signals for.
