Henry D,

I've never been successful buying Puts or Shorting the stock; I always Cover too early. Maybe because I've been conditioned to always be Optimistic in times of Good or Bad. So, I'm not sure if I'll try the Bearish way again.

What I do is to be a Bull and then turn into a Cow alternately with some spare money using my AMAT YoYo Plays to guide me. For example: --- in the last YoYo Play when AMAT Dropped from 79 15/16 to 68 1/16 in 3 days, I turned into a Bull by buying Calls near the Bottom. Then as AMAT headed back Up for the Catch at 79 1/4 in 13 days, I turned into a Cow by selling the Calls near the Top. I do Day, Week, Bi-Weekly and Monthly Trading all the Time. This way I slowly lower my Capital to a Nothing as time goes by --- so, I'm not so afraid of a Bear Market to come anytime since what I'm Playing now are all Profits. Of course to eliminate the hassle of reporting the countless transactions to the IRS, I do this things mostly inside IRAs of my wife and me (Roths are perfect since all the money inside will be Tax Free when withdrawn after our Roth Accounts are held for 5 years).

Buying Puts are Great when executed right. Someday I'm going to learn how to profit from them.
