(REUTERS) PacNet <PCNTF.O> says fastest ISP in Philippines PacNet <PCNTF.O> says fastest ISP in Philippines SINGAPORE, Aug 20 (Reuters) - Pacific Internet (PacNet) said on Friday it has signed a satellite service deal with Philippine Communications Satellite Corp (Philcomsat) which would allow customers to enjoy the fastest Internet access in Philippines. "Pacific Internet is now the first and only Internet Service Provider in the Philippines that matches the speed and reliability of American ISPs," the internet service provider (ISP) said in a statement. The deal with Philcomsat, signed two days ago, was expected to give PacNet a competitive edge in the Philippines, where it has about 16,000 dial-up subcribers. The entire Philippines Internet market is estimated at 300,000 subscribers. PacNet shares ended U.S. 1 lower at $28 on Thursday.
