Yeah, I was watching off & on just about all day and noticed the same thing. In fact, when I checked just after the market closed, I was real surprised that it was up since it had been down most of the day. Here's yahoo's 3 mo. chart showing it to just about tag the 200 dma & well above the 50 dma.

You can see it closed up just as the very last minute but it looks like the big volume preceded the price move by just a few minutes. It did look good on a day when the XAU was down a smidge and a lot of the majors and jr.s were down a little. I started watching HM only a couple of weeks ago & decided to get in last week just before it started to move up. It's too early to brag about good timing but maybe gold will continue up in spite of this latest exuberance on the Street.
