Eric: You raise an interesting question. What really caught my attention was the recent offering, which if combined with a sale of the Storage Systems divisions would have given LSI an ample warchest for future purchases. Even more compelling is the addition of Silterra, which give LSI further flexability to use its cash in an area outside of Fab construction. Thus, my gut feeling is that LSI is already looking elsewhere for purchases, and my best guess is the completion of FPGA embedded technology.
