I am an experienced board certified OPHTHALMOLOGIST, not OPTOMETRIST. We have to go to medical school first.

I am just reflecting the gloom and doom we doctors are facing right now. The federal government pays a major share of the health costs now, they have probably squeezed the providers too much already judging from the hospital/nursing home closures, HMO's are folding or getting out of the Medicare business, and taxes are at an historical high already. So where is the money going to come from?

And I can tell you for sure that the seniors are all bitching about having to pay so much for drugs. As I said in my drunken stupor last Friday, we doctors are appalled that a middle class retiree must spend $500/month just for meds.

Also, I think doubts about drug costs are one of the things keeping RiteAid depressed. I would be reluctant to buy it right now.

And here are the P/S of Merck, Pfizer, and Sepracor. Respectively, 5.03, 8.98, and 145.32. With these multiples they had better come out with a pill that cures impotency, cancer, and depression all in one.

I thought you all might enjoy the oldergals.com. I guess there are people sick enough to subscribe.
