Jorj, two responses re: wcom and y2k

1. I agree with you about fear v. reality with Y2K. However, with CNBC fueling the fire every single day about how the market will sell off due to Y2K concerns/fears, how can "J6PK" not be scared to death about it? It is incredible how the press consistently tries to drive this market down. They think they are doing a service to the public by driving them out every time the market corrects, only to see them sell at the bottom each time. Believe me, come early September, you're going to see talking head after talking head on CNBC foretelling of doom on September 9th. And once that passes, they'll start up again for the year end fear push.

2. Regarding wcom's outage, I'm 99% sure I read somewhere that the outage had something to do with Y2K. However, as you noted, it dealt with system upgrades. However, it just goes to prove again that from the weather to phone outages, for now until January 1, every thing on earth is going to be blamed on Y2K.

Of course, after January 1, they'll start talking about Y3K. Just to make sure that investors miss the next bull run too.
