Without replaying the tape, Chisy, I remember Lev pointing out that cadmium oxide has gone to $65/kg from around $5 in the past year, while he expects the cost of manganese oxide, which is "a fraction of the cost" to decrease even more. Seems to me that the Valence design should be very price competitive from the material standpoint.

Let's also remember that the VLNC batteries are slotted for the high-end laptops initially. In those machines, the cost difference for a battery, if it is as good as Lev and company say, will be not relevent. Those buyers want performance.
