Yes William, you are absolutely right. If the fund is big enough, it MUST be smart, right, and completely liquid- because I mean, that's where all our pension money is!

Tell me about Long Term Capital again?

Or how about the Soros emerging technology fund getting destroyed recently because they shorted internut stocks too soon? Just because you're big, doesnt mean you can't do a boneheaded thing. Im sure the net collapse caught quite a few big boys with their pants down.

Jan, I don't think a well-managed monster like Janus builds and keeps a huge illiquid position in any money-losing company without the best-possible understanding of the fundamental and technical risks.

I would tend to agree that Janus has a strong belief in the fundamentals of Amazon. I do believe they could control the price but doubt that is their plan.

There is a broad based agreement that Amazon's stock will increase during the holiday season. I believe that too much agreement makes the possibility less likely. Q4 99 numbers will be very important in my opinion.
