Charles, I like your "Ghoti" story. concerning culture, my personal opinion is that culture is available world-wide to anybody who is interested in acquiring it. Of course it will be much easier to acquire in countries that have electricity available to the average citizen.
I stated in an earlier post that the U.S.A. is a relatively young country, so we don't have as many dead poets, composers, philosophers, etc., as older countries. But we do have the capability to learn and appreciate these things. An example that comes to mind is the palace of "Versailles" in France. Because it is situated in France does not mean that people from England, Spain, Italy, etc., and even the U.S.A. cannot appreciate it.

I think the cultural difference between the U.S.A. and Eurotrash is that we are moving up hill, and other countries are not.
