Phase one completes hopefully in October. Phase two in December. If everything works on schedule as hoped, a go could be given in January. The go would be to start building the mini-node in established markets like Fremont. I'll bet old HW is watching this like a hawk since HLIT is a big beneficiary if it works.

I suspect it will because the elements involved are linear compatible with exiting equipment, easily retrofitted, and reasonable in expense. The big question is whether the cost remains proportional to the scale of implementation. The sceptics claim that by the time this strategy is sufficiently broad to realize economies of scale that other mediocre technologies being developed will finesse the benefit strictly on a cost basis. I think the doubters miss the true point and that is getting fiber deeper. It has the potential to suddenly explode in return if a new last mile model becomes available. My bet is that new model is here.
