Interesting that a computer shop fellow (assuming he's not a Sun reseller) was excited about MAJC. Maybe not though. Maybe PC retailers are looking to a 'next big thing', as next generation Intel chips haven't been coming through with as they once did.

Linux is a windfall for Unix mindshare. Sun is the biggest beneficiary of Unix mindshare. There are several aspects to this (developers, administrators, *nix in schools, gateway to Solaris, Linux on Sun UltraSparc, ect). Linux threatens NT (low end). It's a squeeze play.

Between M$ failing to come through with it's now stale promises of out doing Unix, Linux coming up from out of the earth under Redmond with a free 'community' Unix, and Sun pulling even further ahead with their 'network is the computer', M$ is in deep do-do and losing relevance quickly (buh-bye).

It just may be that MAJC *is the next big thing and will find great opportunity in it's timing against the M$ desktop PC sunset and the coming bandwidth buildout. If that's the case, we are WAY (way way) undervalued right now, IMO.
