Rick,

I just don't think that brand recognition will ever happen with the public at large, nor do I believe it's relevant.

NN is well known where it counts; Bernie will better appreciate what Network Management means - if his customers give him the chance. I think WCOM is going to see some major defections. I'd be surprised if CBOT is getting more than 10% of its network services from WCOM 1 year out.

This organization's culture just doesn't tolerate communications failures. Or at least it didn't. I suspect that there will be demotions at least, or firings within the chain of command that selected WCOM; and that didn't have sufficient hot standby capacity to keep on running in the event of a network problem. Their replacements just won't trust WCOM any time soon.

Re PRIMETECH: It may not be as good as it looks at first blush. We don't know how much of Primetech's growth relates to growth in NN's business; or just relates to increased outsourcing by NN as they fix their operational problems.

Regardless, the Primetech story can't be bad news and certainly might be great news. We'll know in 9 days.

Ian.
