Topstock,
Interesting article...but can you point me to a legitimate outside source which has tested the technology and confirms its validity?
Thanks,
Kent

Topstock,
This seems more advanced than LUMM...

New Quantum Leap in Fiber Optic Internet Capacity

TORONTO, May 25 /CNW/ - Light Management Group Inc (NASD
OTCBB-LMGR)
using a patented technique to acoustically manage light has demonstrated the
ability to transmit 65,536 separate channels of light over distance in a
singular optic fiber. This quantum leap in optimizing capacity of existing
fiber networks represents a potential increase to the current internet
backbone capacity 400 times the latest Nortel Networks announcement of 160
channels per fiber May 4,1999
Although acoustical modulation of light was demonstrated by Alexander G.
Bell in 1880 using his solar photophone the fiber optic industry has to date
not generally used acoustical techniques. Bell believed that his photophone
would be a greater opportunity than his telephone. Today that vision is closer
to reality. This cost effective innovative solution will dramatically increase
existing capacity at a fraction of the capital cost creating a new economic
model for voice and data network providers to consolidate their operations
capacity and to meet current market growth demands.
LMGR expects to sign license agreements for the technology with several
market leaders in optic transmission in the near future. It is expected that a
commercial solution for interoperability with existing hardware from industry
leaders CISCO, NORTEL and LUCENT commonly used in the networks deployed by
such provider companies as MCI, ATT, BT and other major telecommunication
enterprises will be available in early 2000
The LMGR operating division Laser Show Systems developed and now
commercially delivers acousto optical digital projection devices. The
equipment laser projects full motion color digital PC output 200meters to
outdoor billboards. This acousto optical technique has earned merited
recognition worldwide. The projection device serves the far more significant
purpose, in that it demonstrates visually the optical-acoustic channel
technique to be applied in not only the telecommunications fiber industry but
indeed most applications of laser operation within bio-medical, aerospace,
manufacturing and entertainment venues. This is an undeniable demonstration of
LMGR science.
