<Okay - how about lack of open access in place of "protected access".>

OK I'll buy that, it is a start in the right direction.

<You fail to grasp the concept.> <You do understand that I am advocating a voluntary open access system. I fear ATHM will become the next AAPL. Great product - yawn.>

Yes, considering your concern about ATHM being like AAPL - Yawn to that concern - there is far too much speculation and worry about ATHM's future lately.

It is true that I do fail to grasp the concept of your voluntary open access system. I have not really given it much thought to tell you the truth - partly for reason above and I want a system where ATHM has complete control of access and the front page. People are very spoiled and impatient, they want and expect instant gratification. It is not going to happen that way. ATHM is a long term winner but it will take time to happen. Meanwhile these worry warts are wasting bandwidth - wondering why it hasn't happened already. They are saying all kinds of negative things about the company and it's people.

In this case, I am 100% for private property rights and not for so called open access in any form even arm twisting or "do it or we'll cut your balls off" so called voluntary.
