Doug, thanks for the congratulation (by the way, where do you find that information?). As for Clarke's predictions, I am not sure about the timing, but a lot of the ideas he presents are certainly "feasible". I doubt cold fusion will be commercial by 2002, but 2007 to 2010, is quite a possibility.

If by space energy he means micro black holes, or worm holes, I doubt that will happen by 2010, if ever.

Now the prediction of currency abolishment by 2016 and replacement with megawatt hours, that is an interesting view. It has the natural attribute that its supply grows with the economy (albeit, I would presume at a slower rate than economic growth, because many economic activities are "powerless" and the power efficiency is growing as well. Maybe the currency should be Deuterium capsules, you want to use it to power your microfusion, fine, you want to use it to buy internet based entertainment, you pass it on. In any event, I do not think that Murphy will like either of these suggestions nor the alchemist wonders of "morroworld" (G).
