Two of the hotels we stayed at had laundry rooms, so most of the laundry is clean, thank goodness. I have a fond recollection of doing laundry at the MacPuffin Motel on Cape Breton, the view was spectacular.

We did have to stop at a Walmart once to buy me and Ben clean pants and Nick clean socks, that was the night we stayed at the bed and breakfast. I don't think I'll ever stay at another bed and breakfast, certainly not with kids. No TV. No pool. No ice machine for drinks, the lady did have two icecube trays in her refrigerator, and she let us have all the ice in one of them. The kids room didn't have a bathroom, and our bedroom was supposed to have a queen size bed but it was a double, really. On the other hand, it was immaculate, and the antiques were quite charming. There was nice lavender soap in the bathroom, and herbal shampoo. Lots of coffee with breakfast, but they didn't tell us what breakfast was and we didn't ask, which was a mistake. It was french toast, which was ok, but it was served with half a cup of brown sugar syrup, maybe a cup, really, doused on each plate. Chris and I loath syrup. I tried to rescue the french toast by scraping off the syrup, but to no avail. So we stopped at one of the ubiquitous Tim Hortons (like Dunkin' Donuts) for bagels on the way to Fort Louisburg. I'll post later about Fort Louisburg, it was the highlight of my trip, if you don't count the seafood chowders.
