Hi Aggie,

I have some of both; but, I like trading HLX and have accumulated some of the latter in the past couple of days. As long as the discount is available I'll do the HLX dance with my trading shares. How often do you get a discount on "wholesale" prices????

Aggie Re: FGI

Picked this up on YAHOO:

"Good news coming by end of August!!!

Spoke with IR today and cleared up the "quite period" issue concerning the merger. First let me clear up my post regarding the "FTC Early termination of the waiting period." This is an FTC inquiry with reference to anti-trust regulations regarding aquisitions and mergers and is not related to the "quite period." The "quite period" ends when FGI files their "proxy" regarding the merger. According to IR, FGI is filing the "proxy" this Friday, August 20, 1999. IR informed me that as soon as the "proxy" is filed and accepted, Halloway will begin to answer questions about the merger and make public statements. This could happen as early as next week, however more likely the following week (August 30th). IR stated that Halloway was going to take the news on a "road show." IMO this means we will be seeing great news releases and that he will be touting the good fortune of all FGI share holders, by revealing the synergies, work backlog, increased revenue/profit potential, etc., etc., that will emerge from the merger as well as all details surrounding the merger. This is truely great news for us longs.

IMO, IR seemed very "upbeat" about the upcoming "quite period" coming to an end as they are excited about spreading the news and details.

IMO, we should begin reaping the benefits of the merger within 10 days or so. IMO, I believe all us longs that have been loyal and who have been accumulating at these low prices will be generously rewarded for standing by this great growth company.

Good luck to all!

GO FGI GO!!!

Regards,
jet"

Sounds like good news for FGI/HLX investors.....

Aggie, re: HLX/FGI

Hope you followed my advice and bought into HLX. It has held nicely (sans hard news) while FGI has trickled down further. The increased ante from .4614 to .57 shares (23.5%) appears to have added support for HLX shares while putting temporary pressure on FGI shares. That amendment increased my ultimate number of FGI (Friede Goldman Halter) shares by almost 2k.

The votes are to occur Oct 28th with the deal to close o/a Nov 1st.
Proxies were to be mailed yesterday. You know how I will vote.
IMO both companies are undervalued and provide good intermediate/long term investments even if the merger should not occur, which is unlikely.

Good luck and best regards....
