Now you know how difficult it is to advance a thesis just to have the running dogs pull it down. You see how we take what we would like to criticize, twist it out of your intention because in a brief expose you can't be thorough, and try to stomp the thesis out of existence. You do have though a better appreciation for the material issues involved. You have emulated what ATHM is going through in a micro market of thread dynamic. If a thesis can survive scrutiny, then it can advance to candidacy as a correct assessment.

Your thesis was that ATHM must focus on one identity. I agree. We only disagree in what kind of identity. You lean towards distribution and I to presentation. Att and the MSOs to varying degrees agree with you and Jermo and Kleiner are in my camp. Practically speaking it won't be any time soon that ATHM can be weaned away from distribution because distribution is so primitive. Maybe they need to do both right now later moving to your idea of separating into two companies. Apparently, that's what they're doing!
