Erik,

Don't forget that MS has a history of releasing product for marketing reasons even though they know it has many errors. Their policy is to let the users find the problems. When it is my operating system, or my browser or my word processor, I many lose some data or have to re-boot. But when they start doing financial transactions they have to be 100% correct. Remember the bad press when Checkfree was down for a couple of days. No one lost any money and yet you would have thought it was the end of the world and the company was dead!

I don't think MS has the proper culture to be successful with financial transactions. What do you want to bet that they have a major screw-up in the first month?

I believe in CKFR because they have been there, and they have the right corporate culture. They probably have more customer service reps than MS. Keep the faith!

>>>>This is concerning because it appears that Checkfree's pay anyone (I assume it's Checkfree's) feature will serve as a bridge until Transpoint has its own pay anyone feature. So much for that great defining technology we have. May boost subscribers and transactions in the short term, but does not appear good long term.

No bridge. Two seperate services. Two seperate sites. I disagree with your long term assesment. I don't see how this hurts CheckFree.

>>>It is also concerning that the service is free.

It shouldn't be. In most cases you can't use the service, and even if you can, you would only be able to recieve one bill. So how could they charge?

>>>Transpoint may prove to be a bigger force than we give them credit.

If you go by the number of mentions on this thread, I think we have always given TransPoint/MSFT a lot of credit.
